Bismillahirrahmanirrahim...Assalamualaikum..Hello there!! Today's lecture is about a SMILE..we will give a little intro about this...

This is our first impression about SMILES.
we don't get it! arggghhh

Not like this!
ngehehehe

Let's go!! SMILES or it's real name, Simplified Molecular-input Line-entry System is a specification in form of a line notation for describing the structure of chemical molecules using short ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) strings. Dear readers, you can click on the word SMILE up there to get the details about this simple notation. To know what task had been given to us, continue on this page pals! The one under the structure is the SMILES notation. As you can see, this sort of notation is only in straight line and have no hydrogen atom.

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim..Assalamualaikum wbt
Today, we have learned about Protein Data Bank. Protein Data Bank is a repository for 3-D biological macromolecular structure. It includes proteins, nucleic acids and viruses. PDB obtained by X-Ray crystallography (80%) or NMR spectroscopy (16%) and submitted by biologists and biochemists from around the world.  For more details about this click on the link here. PDB can be opened using RasMol software. You can easily download this software from your browser. To download, click here.
There are 4 types of Protease that had been assigned to us.

The first one is ClpP:

More Info....

ClpP
ClpP, the proteolytic component of the ATP-dependent ClpAP and ClpXP chaperone/protease complexes, has 14 identical subunits organized in two stacked heptameric rings.
The second one is DegP:

More Info....

DegP
The heat-shock protein DegP is a protein quality control factor in the bacterial envelope that is involved in eliminating misfolded proteins and in the biogenesis of outer-membrane proteins.

The third one is Thermolysin:

More Info...

Thermolysin
Thermolysin is a thermostable metalloproteinase. The high digestion temperatures may be used as an alternative to denaturants to improve digestion of proteolytically resistant proteins. Thermolysin preferentially cleaves at the N-terminus of the hydrophobic residues leucine, phenylalanine, valine, isoleucine, alanine and methionine. The optimal digestion temperature range is 65–85°C. Thermolysin activity is optimal at pH 5.0–8.5.

Last one is Trypsin:

More Info...

Trypsin
The X-ray structure of a variant of basic pancreatic trypsin inhibitor (BPTI) has been analyzed to determine the structural accommodation resulting from removal of a disulfide cross-link in a protein.

.That's All.Enjoy.Have A Nice Day.

Today's post is regarding a software that we have learned just today. The software is CHEMSKETCH.There are some link about this software below, where you can download it or even know about it. This CHEMSKETCH software is available for free. So, you can download it easily especially for teachers, lecturers and educators who teach the subject Chemistry (<--- click on).

Bismillah...
Assalamualaikum wbt

Dear readers, we would like to share a little about ourselves...This blog consist of three members as below...we came to International Islamic University Malaysia Kuantan campus (web page, facebook) as we were offered to bachelor of  biotechnology (honours) course.

datul: facebook
Datul came all the way from Kelantan to IIUM Kuantan Campus to fulfill her right as a muslim caliphate. As a muslim, she has to study and practices the knowledge she had got. She is interested in swimming and also archery which are the sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. She was born on 8th April 1992 at Hospital University Sains Malaysia(HUSM). In IIUM Kuantan Campus, she stayed at Mahallah Maimunah level 4, block M4, room 4.3 with three other members. Last but not least, she hopes to be one of biotechnologist in Malaysia. InsyaAllah...

 ainun: e-mail
Ainun had been born to this world on 15th February 1992 by her dearest mother at Terengganu Specialist Medical Centre (TSMC), Terengganu. She had traveled from her hometown, Terengganu, to continue her studies in biotechnology course in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Kuantan campus. Besides, Ainun also shows her interest in watching movies and also listening to the latest songs (especially English songs)during her spare time because she believes that by doing those activities, they can help her to reduce her stress especially strees due to studies.  In IIUM, she stays at Mahallah Maimunah ,M4 room 3.4 with her three other friends.

 amni: facebook
Amni Nadhirah Bt Abdullah Pirus is the name entitled since born on 24th November 1992. She was born at Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC). Amni lives in Shah Alam,Selangor. She is the second from 6 siblings. She likes to surf internet and read others blog during leisure time. Besides that, amni dream to be a successful researcher since born 20 years ago and Alhamdulillah she got to enroll to the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) , the  garden of knowledge and virtue. Now she takes Bachelor of Biotechnology (BSBT) and stays at Mahallah Maimunah happily.

Last but not least, we hope and pray that we will be a great biotechnologist in the future.

-THE END-

About

this blog stand by three biotechnologists to-be... the three of us are hidayatul athirah, ainun sabihah and amni nadhirah..we choose the 'el tigres' because our blog's name is panthera tigris..it is the scientific name for tiger.
